Palo Alto Networks just dropped Idira™. And honestly, I’ve been waiting for this.
Last night at their IMPACT event, they officially launched their fourth core platform: identity security, built on CyberArk’s technology and woven deep into Strata, Cortex, and Prisma. The premise is simple but long overdue: “Every identity is privileged.” Not just your privileged accounts. Every human, every machine, every AI agent running loose in your environment.
Consider the numbers for a second: machine identities already outnumber humans 109 to 1. 79 of those are AI agents. And 90% of organizations had an identity-related breach in the last 12 months. Identity has been the awkward gap in the platform story, until now.
For ON2IT customers, this can change the conversation. A single control plane where identity signals flow into Cortex for better detection, PAM lives directly inside Prisma Browser, and your NGFW becomes more identity-aware. Every product in the portfolio gets smarter because identity is finally woven in, not bolted on.
I’ve already started mapping out the full picture: what Idira covers, how the pieces connect, and where the real opportunities are. The screenshot is exactly what it looks like: we stay 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐭. Quite literally.
Stay tuned. This is one to watch closely.
What’s your read on platform consolidation in identity security? Long overdue, or too good to be true?
