Kippevel... De nieuwe SOAD / Serj Tankian

Ja, hier kwam Jeroen gisteren ineens mee op de proppen, ik had het nog niet gezien. Een nieuwe clip van Serj Tankian, de zanger van System of a Down. Wat een verschrikkelijk goede clip en tekst. Ik ga deze CD zeker kopen.

Het nummer heet Empty Walls, en komt van de cd Elect the Dead. Ik heb de lyrics ook hieronder staan.

Wellicht de beste clip die ik in jaren heb gezien!

De verwijzingen naar de verschillende gebeurtenissen etc, zorgen ervoor dat ik de clip interpreteer als het de wereld afsluiten van de echte doden die vallen. Oorlog blijft ver weg, de doodskisten buiten zicht. De twin-towers, het neerhalen van het standbeeld van Sadam Hoessein, het nemen van gevangenen, zelfs autobommen en kinderen die uiteindelijk enkel door een lege muur en een raam gescheiden zijn van de doodskisten die weggedragen worden.

Kortom, de onwetendheid van het publiek, de onbekendheid van het aantal doden en kinderen die oorlog spelen, onbekend met de werkelijkheid.
